Phil Gould

Any information on why there has been no articles--other than one piece on Jarryd Hayne--since ,and including the Grand final, from Phil Gould in the Sydney Morning Herald?  I miss his writings, which to me, are the best to be had on Rugby League. I hope he is fit and well?

  • Probably because the season is over, there was one immediately after hayne left, he is likely only contracted to write during the season

  • Yeah he would be on holidays. Don't forget he has a pretty heavy workload with Panthers and channel nine. A fair amount of travel for a bloke starting to get on in years.

  • Gould only writes for the season - comes back during trial games.

  • Don't ask stupid questions. Enjoy weekends not getting annoyed by Goulds rubbish talk.
    •  You are the self appointed authority on stupid questions I presume?  Nobody is perfect, but I prefer Gould to  98% of efforts on this site, particularly yours.

    • I would rather read Goulds articles than Ricky Stuarts jibberish in the Sunday tele. At least Gould does make valid points. He can get annoying on TV but his coaching record speaks for itself.
  • Phillip Ronald Gould obviously knows something that we dont - he didnt seem too disappointed at the news of Hayne leaving. Compared to his form in the past with regards to superstars leaving the game. Maybe because it wasn't to a rival code like Ruby Yawning or AFL.

There is a lot more to the whole Hayne situation and i think in the coming months it will all come to the surface.

    • Hayne would've been lynched had he gone to Union or AFL because they compete with the NRL.
  • agree

  • Agreed wiggy. His column is probably the best of the lot both for the Herald and Tele.

"I think you need to re-look at the start of the game; Brisbane had the majority of the ball in the first 20 min let alone first half, and when we got a shot at them, we scored. The game was one of the fastest I have seen and we did well to hang in…"
