Eels legend Peter Wynn has been bashed in a sickening coward-punch attack

Police are investigating the incident from Wednesday night which left the former Test forward needing a brain scan.
The 56-year-old was standing at the front of his shop on Wednesday night when the Western Sydney Wanderers played in the Asian Champions League. He made it clear the attacker was not a soccer fan.

“We kept the shop open late because the Wanderers were playing down the road,” Wynn said.
“About 7.05pm this bloke just came up from behind and king hit me in the back of the head.
“I didn’t even see him. It stunned me. I was out for about a second.
“I turned around and saw them running up the mall high-fiving each other and carrying on. Can you believe that?
“I was getting headaches so I went and saw the doctor and got a precautionary brain scan.”
Wynn, one of Parramatta’s most popular former players, said a customer had witnessed the attack and was assisting police. There is also footage from the CCTV security footage at his Peter Wynn Score shop.
“The customer said he couldn’t believe what he’d seen,” Wynn said.
“It could have killed me. It’s not good but the police have been fantastic and they’re doing an investigation.”
Wynn said that he immediately thought about the bashings that have occurred over the past 12 months in Kings Cross.
“Those poor families who have lost kids from king hits in the Cross,” he said.
“It makes you realise how vulnerable you are when you get belted from behind out of nowhere.
“I put a report into the police. You don’t want those sort of blokes hanging around on the street.”

After our great win last night it was disappointing to wake up to this news. Whilst he has ruled out Wanderers fans it does make you wonder.....
Hope they get the grubs.
