PARRAMATTA’S greatest ever halfback, Peter Sterling, has called on the club to part ways with Chris Sandow.Sandow’s future at the Eels is at the crossroads, with the playmaker facing disciplinary action, or even the axe, over an expletive-laden social media rant.Sandow’s post, which was quickly deleted, read: “I’m sick of these big mouth c**** down here they think I’m one on my own should we run a muck or what I’m over the bullsh**.The Facebook tirade came after Eels coach Brad Arthur confirmed Sandow was free to join English Super League club Warrington, but the club wouldn’t be paying out his contract.SANDOW: Eels investigate rantSNUB: Sandow snubbed by teammatesChris Sandow’s Facebook rant. When asked on The Sunday Footy Show if Arthur should hand the No. 7 jersey back to Sandow, Sterling responded: “No.“I’ve been a critic of Chris for a long time now. He’s easy to fall in love with when we see what he can do on a football field.“Obviously I can show you – I’ll put together clips – of the things people don’t see, what he doesn’t do in games, and the defence he comes up with.“You cannot be responsible for setting up two smashing tries, but then be directly responsible for conceding three.“And I’ve said so many times, the difference between Chris’s good games and his not-so-good games – and there are too many of those – is too vaster gulf.“In the NRL, if you have a No. 7 on your jersey you’ve got to be 7.5 (out of 10), at worst, every week. And that’s where Chris has struggled.“The first things that a coach has to do when looking at a player is ask the question ‘can I win with him?’“I think Chris Sandow has shown that Parramatta struggle to win with him and they are better off apart. How that’s facilitated, well that remains to be seen.”Parramatta Eels great Peter Sterling. Picture: Christian GillesHalfback of the century and rugby league Immortal Andrew Johns pleaded with Sandow to take pride in his performance.“From what I saw the other night, Chrissy didn’t give 100 per cent,” Johns said.“There were certain areas where he didn’t attempt to tackle. Chrissy, we all love you, but get out and have a go, mate.“You’ve got people who love that club. Get out and represent that club. You are only tainting your legacy.”Sandow’s Eels teammates were so furious with his performance against Canterbury on Friday night they refused to acknowledge him inside the dressing rooms at ANZ Stadium. The NRL told The Sunday Telegraph: “We will be writing to the Parramatta club to seek an explanation (on the Facebook post).”The Eels were checking whether the post would count as a breach of Sandow’s contract, meaning the blue and gold outfit could tear up Sandow’s contract with no strings attached.

  • Well derrr Sterlo, tell us something we didn't know.

    • x10000

Sterlo is great but thanks captain obvious.

  • Seems as if Poppa is the last man standing.

Are you by any chance Sandow's manager Popps ?
    • I have never once made derogatory or racial insults against any individual or player on this site poppa.
My rants are purely around individual football talent and what our team needs to be successful.

Also if a player we have signed turns up to his first training session 10-15 kgs overweight, it may be assumed it's more about being professional, committed and motivated, rather than anything mental .
  • Like I've said - Sandow won't be on the plane to North Queensland.

Miatch - want another bet. Bahahaha
    • We can only hope so. He doesn't deserve to play after Friday night's performance, let alone the bullcrap that's happened since....
  • I have been a Sandow supporter the last few years. I have jumped to his defense on many occasions when he has been bagged after a loss. But obviously I was wrong! There has always been that lingering doubt in the back of my head that questions his ability to be a professional player. And now these doubts have been confirmed with his idiotic behavior this week. Time to admit I was wrong and for Sandow to move on.
    • Well done Wayne. You are not the only one to admit that our faith in Sandow was misplaced.

I am sure he has reasons for taking his course of action but the way he did it was not only embarrasing to his reputation but a major spit in the face to all the fans that stuck by him when there were a lot of critics questioning his position in the team.

The best thing for all parties concerned is to go our own ways because I can't see this damage being repaired given Sandows Facebook rant yesterday.Obviously he thinks he has not done anything wrong which is not the response we would be looking for. I think that BA and the Club have come to the same decision,Time to go but don't expect to be paid out.

  • Poor chrissy
    • Not great when two of the great modern halfbacks are bagging your performance and lack of effort. ....

He claims to have a "serious head injury" in his statement, well why not be with the club…"
