The Penrith Panthers have landed another rising star on their books, with an Australian Schoolboys representative defecting from their western Sydney neighbours.
The Penrith Panthers juggernaut rolls on with the powerhouse club adding one of the game’s top young players to their books.
Tyson Sangalang is set to join the defending NRL premiers from 2025 after a stellar season in the Parramatta pathways system.
In his first year of SG Ball as a year-young back rower, Sangalang was a key part of Patrician Brothers’ College Blacktown’s victory in the Peter Mulholland Cup.
He scored a try in their narrow NRL Schoolboys Cup final loss to Palm Beach Currumbin.
He also earned Australian Schoolboys honours and came off the bench in their recent 56-6 win over the France U19s.
Sangalang will be eligible for SG Ball in 2025.
It marks the second player the Panthers have been able to lure from the Eels for next year, with Blaize Talagi defecting after a breakout season in first grade.
It won’t be one-way traffic however, with talented fullback Isaiah Longi jumping from Penrith to Parramatta in the hopes of making his first grade debut next year.
The Panthers appear to have their successor in place for Dylan Edwards, with Jaxen Edgar featuring in SG Ball and Jersey Flegg throughout the year despite turning 18 in 2024.
