Hard to be positive, but since this is One Eyed Eel, someone's got to be One Eyed lol
Its hard to get any positives out of a GF loss, but still have to be proud of the team for making the big dance, with a pretty tough road to get there with the away preliminary in the QLD heat.
The panthers had the sweetest restful run for weeks into and during the finals.
The Panthers were clinically brilliant, but I still feel if a few decisions went our way it could have gone either way. Maybe I’m a bit biased but the Panthers seemed to offside a lot and laying around forever in tackles scot-free.
When Gutho was caught in the defensive line and they scored through the posts, we'd held them out on the goal line for 3 consecutive sets. There had been some awesome goal line defensive efforts before that.
They could've been 30 points up at half time if the defensive grit wasn't there.
It seems like the plan was to rope a dope it until second half and then roll over the top. Worked last week..
If Sivo's try stuck, it would have been 18-6 with plenty of time on the clock and the crowd would have gone ape. We would have lifted, got possession back and it would be game on. It’s surprising how something like that can turn a game around.
As good as the panthers were, a few small rubs of the green a couple of ridiculous bunker decisions less and a little more conposure and the game could have swung our way.
A couple of their tries came from our mistakes, one from a complete bunker blunder, and we botched two we normally wouldn’t (Sivo never doesn’t score that try lol)
Sometimes it’s just not your day. But still a great achievement to get to the big dance and all the best for next year lads!

A lot of people on social media saying NQ would of been a better opponent or this team would have done better or this were "the worst grand final ever", give over. Nobody were beating this Penrith team, even Cleary said himself that this were the best first half the club had played all year.
NQ would have had 50 put in them, an fact, any other team would have been lapped but that Panthers team tonight.
They legit had every ball bounce their way and got every call. I'm not going to whinge about the decisions, but we got nothing tonight, that would have been hard for our boys towards the end there.
But I never felt once that they have up.
This GF was embarrassing
Yep embrassing in that we were considered the team most capable of beating them and we were never close
Worst Eels grand final attempt I've ever witnessed
It was a terrible gameplan from arthur let him serve his time and move him on sometimes you just need that change in the guard to get success.
Exactly, there didn't appear to be any game plan. It was ridiculous and made no impact. The refs were disgraceful and if the Panthers line speed was legitimate then they should be in the Olympics for the 100, 200 and 400 metres.
