Penrith are the team to beat

Melbourne are not the same team without smith they will be better when Grant comes back.

But Penrith the depth and talent is incredible if had Burton as a back up I wouldn't let him leave either.

Kenny the back-up hooker would start for most teams unbelievable they chocked last year in the decider if they make it this year they won't let it slip again.

Easily the benchmark team

As good as we were last week until we can do what they do then we are still rising.

Also I hate Penrith but jeez you have to give em credit

  • Long way to go. I don't think any team is the standout right now.

    • yep, talk about premature!

      • I'm not calling them the premiers but they are the team in best position as a whole unit and as a club. We should be in same position and we should be aiming to be like them with that production line of ready made talent

      • Premature Adjudication.

    • It's like people forget the broncos had us on the ropes in the 1st half of rd1

      • On the ropes! Hmm! Don't think so!

        • Monto we were down 16-0 at half time and playing like a bunch of U7's against the Broncos. Yes we've responded since then, but we aren't miles ahead of any other top 6 team.

          No one is yet.

          • I didn't say the Eels were miles ahead of any other top 6 team. I said from what I've seen of the Eels this season (except for the 1st half against the Broncos) that the Eels look a better team than the Panthers and Storm. Its funny how comments get blown out of proportion.

            • And I'm saying, and quite frankly a lot of other people are saying that there are 6 contenders this year, with very little margin between them, and we are one of them.

    • Based on last week's game by the Eels, yes Frankie they are ahead of both the Panthers and Storm.

"It's a good point LB. A few people seem to think Flegg is above reserve grade standard, or that players are better at 21 than they are at 26. Jake Tago is at his peak. It might be a relatively low peak, but he is still well ahead of most 21 year…"
