If I'm not mistaken, last week vs the Saints we received our 1st penalty somewhere round the 70th minute. I think that's a world record for the game in general. The stats guy for Fox was scrambling to find if a team had ever finished a game without being awarded a single penalty.
Most of the time we were never in great position to apply a lot of pressure with our kicking game. However we would have been far worse off had we not had it at all. Last week almost all of the kicks found the grass but last night not so good kicking after struggling to get out of our own end.
Last night at least 3 of the penalties we received were early in the tackle count attacking their line, when it makes no difference except for the refs stats and allowing the Dogs defence to get reset !

"Start Samrani either centre or wing. He smashed the sharks and the chooks. Was fast, tackle-busting and once he set his eyes on the try line it was curtains for the opposition.
I'd start him on the wing as not to disrupt Rusty and the combos set up…"

I think what has saved our bacon yesterday was our excellent kicking game. Both Corey and Mitch were sublime in finding open spaces and kicking long.
