  • De Gois has been in good form since joining but still hasn't risen to heights of Peats as yet. The consensus here (although never actually heard him say so) is that BA isn't a fan of the 2 hooker rotation. But since Peats can play backrow he could still play 80min by starting at hooker then moving out wide & give De Gois time in the middle.

I couldn't see either Peats or De Gois filling in the backs though so you'd lose the Sefo utility role if De Gois takes a bench spot.

  • My guess will be peats will come back in with degois on the bench till peats regains full match fitness then degois to wenty. A lot depends on how well peats recovers from the shoulder and knee surgeries.
  • If I'm going to be honest, I'd have to start off with YES, peats did play a few very very good games, and is a quality player. But Degois's game on Friday night against Manly is the best hooking performance I've seen for a very very long time. Maybe since the Brad Drew days. It's great to have two quality hookers. It's a good headache to have for BA.
  • De Gois will play off the bench and paulo will be scrapped. As kenny as mentioned above.
  • Although De Gois has been good for us since his signing next year it will be Peats as starting hooker and Isaac playing NSW Cup. Good depth in the dummy half role anyway.

  • Peats to start.
DeGois to fullfill the utility role.
    Off bench.
    • Agree Chuck, can't see Degois in Wenty if he maintains the standard he played against Manly.
  • I won't be so sure peats will start, I think it will be the other way around , degoise to start peats off the bench. The reason I say this, having done an ACL injury myself , it does take about 2yrs to fully recover from an ACL injury, yes he will be back running around next year, but to get completely confident on it again, I think it will take him another year. In saying this, I think BA will use him sparingly for the first half of the season. He won't take too many risks with him, because obviously he is our long term hooker.
  • BA isn't a fan of having 2 hookers in the team. Peats will be first choice and degois a solid backup.

  • Will see

"I think Tui had more of an impact than Doorey did. And is the prop that MUST be on the bench every game. And if Tualagi can do that against the Broncos, he can do it against the Dragons. I'd be keeping him in at edge, or at least the bench. The…"

"There's your mistake, your right there Eli. "Build the squad he wants".
That cant happen if the squad he wants can't be signed by R&R.
How does that get rectified.
Interesting. Ryles appears like a fantastic signing and has changed the clubs…"
