Pauli Pauli Vs Cowboys

What's the deal with Pauli Pauli - is he unfit, injured or just lazy?

We were still in the game when he let that try in. He was still getting up off the ground, when the Cowboy player launched at him from dummy half. If Pauli Pauli was standing up, then the other guy would not have gone straight over him.

I like Pauli Pauli, but maybe he's getting too many minutes and getting out of breath? Either that or he's just not making the effort. You never see players like Gower, Manu or Wicks put themselves in a situation like that.

I see him as a big 'wrecking ball' impact kinda player, but damn.... stand the F up in defence and hold onto the effing ball ya butter fingers. I remember seeing him drop the ball at least once or twice in the game. Perhaps he should sign with a team like the Dogs, where they know how to train big blokes like him/ hammer some aggression into him. He needs to play alongside some aggressive players like James Grahan or Klemmer.... I know Choc was meant to serve that purpose, but yeah....... not sure how well that worked out. Maybe Scott will do the trick next year.

  • He needs a heart transplant, anybody got a horse.
    • Phar Lap's heart is on display in the National Museum.... you reckon that's big enough to make him stand up in the defensive line?

  • Was thinking the same, very disappointing effort. Will spend a lot of time in Wenty next year with Scott and Edwards in the side. I think he needs time.
  • That was poor but so was our ruck defence for the whole 80. They made breaks out of dummy half at will. A couple.on our try line which is inexcusable.
  • Pauli will always carry the persona, he is extremely lazy whilst on the field, imo he needed a full year in wenty, injuries have not allowed us that option.
    • I would love to have Alvaro on the bench ahead of Pauli. Alvaro puts in a solid effort and has a good attitude. He's just the kind of guy we need.

  • Was a few moments like this, taka drop ball, Pauli defence, try's join begging down the edge. Drop balls on the 1st tackle. Ps can't wait for lussick to leave this club.
    • Lussick was garbage tonight. It seems like he's just going through the motions, waiting for his Parra contract to be over. I saw him let in at least one of the try's... no, make that two.

  • He was never really ready big forwards mature late.
  • If Canterbury are so great at influencing big lazy players, then how do you explain Tony Williams?
