Paul Kent has been bold enough to fully explain how and why players get caught up in match fixing.
He has described how players get "compromised" by certain types who provide them with free drugs, prostitutes and betting on the nod - until they find themselves in such a hole that they "owe".
At that point, those 'types' call in their debt. The player can't take $60k out of their bank account without justification because their wife or partner will ask questions.- at which point they tell the compromised player, "look, I don't want you to throw the match, but don't win by more than 6 points. I'll put $x on it and your debt to me is cleared".
This is exactly what happens and I applaud Paul Kent for having the honesty to put it on the public record.

For sure, this is one of the methods big punters manipulate their surroundings, it goes with the territory.
Mate, gamblers are like drug addicts. They can justify anything to get that hit or that buzz. It is quite sad. Especially when so many of these guys earn so much money. Why the need to gamble? It is not like they need more money. I don't get it.
