Check out these quotes from Paul Garrard in this article. He's filthy at Geoff Gerard for coming out and talking to the media.
Garrard wants to the Club to have 'one voice'. Apparently they're going to discuss this issue at a meeting this evening.
Here's a tip for you Garrard - if you want the Club to have one voice. Then shut the f&*k up! The irony of it all. It's all egos folks.
There was no reason to publicly criticise Garrard. You could have done that in a private phone call. What is wrong with these clowns?
Garrard simply goes out and does the exact thing he doesn't want Gerard to do.
Parramatta Lord Mayor Paul Garrard confirmed the directors had become concerned with Gerard’s public presence, claiming the lack of a unified voice was damaging the club’s image.
“Transcripts and media outlets seem to suggest that he’s deeming who is right and who is wrong without those people being given the right to defend themselves,” Garrard said. “He’s perhaps going outside what the board has determined in giving personal opinions but not making it very clear it’s his personal opinion.
“That’s the difficulty we have with Geoff at the moment. This business with Bevan Paul seems to be at the heart of it. We need to have a media spokesman. I think the board needs to make some sort of statement about that.
“Tomorrow night is a meeting to draw a line in the sand and decide what is the best way forward from the organisation’s perspective. Certainly for the board’s leadership, it’s not good having three different messages out there. It’s confusing people and damaging the image.”
Gerard, who is expected to represent the Eels at Thursday’s meeting of club representatives, is believed to be the NRL’s preference to become the face of the club.
Garrard confirmed Paul was offered the football club role as a stopgap measure.

What an absolute mess, it's beyond a joke now.
They should all go and we should let the NRL help out until we get a new board free from the last 3 factions.
It does Mick with the current clowns and past factions completely dragging our clubs name though the mud.
Why would anyone want to play here with all the BS that these clowns carry on with??? BA has done a fantastic job assembling this squad only for the inept board ruin everything. It shits me to tears, i'd hate to see what it's doing to him.
Clowns! Money hungry fks
Ive been saying it for yonks now that this board has to go entirely. The NRL must appoint an administrator to get the place back in order. The club has so much promise that it is being destroyed by people with big egos.
Roger, while nothing surprises me in this day & age, the aspect of a Lord Mayor, along with a board member of the club getting drunk & performing in public is totally both unacceptable but also not surprising.
Before I was medically retired from my career job, that I loved, we had a politically appointed CEO of our industry, a has been high profile alcoholic, who sadly still is highly regarded on both sides of politics, he got in & wormed his way into the lives of his workers, nice guy, call me by my first name, got the info he needed then came the axe.
He regularly toured the state & it was called the piss express on wheels, the culmination of one of those tours was a function at a major club where the business put on a banquet, all the food & grog of all descriptions you could have. At o200am he ambles down to one of the local outlets under his control, borrows a motorized vehicle used to move items around & goes on a go kart like derby at the place, one of the controllers came up & ordered him off the premises, a bit of an argument took place & the employee was reminded who he was talking to & he would do as he wanted to do, he then threatened the employee with the sack.
The employee stood his ground & told him do what you want but get off the premises as you are drunk if not I will call the police. His minders got him away & the boss remembered some of the events but not all. He had lost all respect of his staff along with any dignity he would have had.
He kept his position for a while & finished up but the business went from bad to worse owing to the way it was left.
Seems to fit quite well here methinks.
When will this pain end...seriously cannot take much more, the club is the most embarrassing "professional" club across the world
Has anyone heard him speak to the media? He struggles to string two words together. We can't let him be our spokesperson or representative, especially at a time like this when we need precise communication to the public, NRL and media.
On Saturday, on Triple M, he failed miserably to explain the salary cap situation and the combining of the 2013 2014 and 2015 TPA's. He said , and I paraphrase 'I was told repeatedly we were under the salary cap for 2016 and then I found out we were $540,000 over the cap'. He clearly doesn't understand how we came to be over the cap.
He then went on to joke about being on the golf course and then whilst laughing asked Richard Freedman for a tip for the races this weekend.
We need to be serious about our communication, we can't have board members joking around with the media in the current environment.
I encourage everyone to listen to his interview on Dead Set Legends

The other problem I see with Geoff is:
1. As a board member, why didn't he know anything about the TPA's?
2. And if he did, why didn't he speak up or stand down.

This overshadows all the other shortcomings.
All board members appeared to be present in the meetings where the transcripts were provided. A little bit of dissent or a probing question here and there simply isn't enough - and I'm not getting into ethics here, I'm solely talking about executing their function.
Board members are in place to manage risk. That is one of their primary functions.
Every single board member either:
Nothing they say now can absolve them from those fundamental failures. This says nothing of ethics, it says nothing of character, it says everything of competence. A measure by which every single current board member failed unfortunately.
