Passion is overrated

I read a lot of people say "I like him, he plays with passion". Give me a jumper then. It'll be the most passionate 45 seconds you've ever seen, until im snapped in 1/2.

Give me cool headed players that are intelligent and can execute. While Melbourne look a bit robotic and methodical, I love it. They're intention is to intelligently go about the game plan.

Our passion is to play full-bore like head-less chooks for 50mins (during home games only)

I really think Bellamy runs a "footy IQ test" over potential recruits to see if the brains matches the brawn. Matches are so close now It only takes one or two dumb things from dumb players to cost you the 2 points.

Brains > Passion

  • The answer is Daz you need brains and passion, the storm are oozing both.

    • Hey mate.  Id say we have too much of one and not enough of the other.

Cam smith looks like he just got out of bed for 1/2 time interviews, he's so relaxed. He, cronk and slater are analytical players, summing up situations quickly and adjusting for them.....

Im convinced, that sort of on field intelligence is the missing piece of our puzzle......dare i say it....."Sterlo-esk" intelligence.

  • Mate I agree with you. If you don't have a football brain and unable to follow game plans. On your bike.
  • Passion's a must in the bedroom.
  • Very true but seems hard to find. Aren't Storm lucky they have been able to keep the nucleus of their brains for so long?

    • Not for much longer though.

  • haha

"I am a big advocate for Brian Smith to have some sort of role within the club, even around the GM role. I wouldn't give him the GM role but maybe an advisor role or something like that. Get a new GM and have Smith with him."
