Parramatta's offload addiction won't stop in Grand Final

EELS coach Daniel Anderson concedes his team's offload addiction has reached "negligent" proportions - but the dangerous habit won't be broken come Sunday afternoon. Hot-potato passing is undoubtedly the risky flavour of Parramatta's resurgence, with NRL stats revealing the Eels have almost doubled their per-game offloads over the second half of 2009. But while opposition defences have been detonated, Anderson's expectations, as well as his heart rate, have also been blown sky-high by unpredictable phases of ball movement. "I didn't envisage we would be off-loading like this," he said. "Against the Bulldogs (last week) we had a lot of offloads that weren't very controlled. It got to the stage where there was a bit of a frenzy. "A lot of passes hit the ground and didn't necessarily stick. When you look at the errors we made from offloads - it's almost negligent." But just when Anderson appeared set to throw a wet blanket over his men, the coach breathed fresh air into their licence to thrill. "I certainly won't be inhibiting the team's natural ability this week," he said. "You've got to have courage in your convictions to pass the ball to any player at any time.
