I will cop flack for this but I don't see what all the fuss is about with Davis. He is very big and could end up similar to Inglis in size but for me he lacks the speed and flashy footwork to be a top line fullback. But I agree with you on Docker Clay Horo. I hav'nt really seen all that much improvement in Zac and to me he plays like he is still playing under under 10's, he is a bad hog of the footy and bombs a lot of tries due to his selfishness.
Agree Clive. He is very over rated. Slow and turns like the titanic. ZDC is also terrible.
Inglis also lacks the speed and flashy footwork of a top line fullback. Instead he uses his strength and hopes that players attempt to tackle him high so he can use his fend and shrug them off https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UhrN4_R6CWo you only have to watch "the try of the year" to see that Inglis is very strong around his chest but a lot of outside backs were able to catch up to him quite easily.
I think they are just getting him used to playing both sides as we won't know what happen with our centre positions in the future, that way they can slot him on either side.
Not surprised that Davis is being chased, he has good vision, is fast enough for centre, very strong and has broken a lot of tackles that goes unnoticed. When he has his forward pack going forward, like we did last year in the 20's he looks something else. This year hasn't been his best but then again in the 2 games that our forwards won the ruck he scored tries and we won. He's more of a centre than fullback but given how much fullback he's played in the NYC he could slot in there if need be in first grade.
The fullback in the NYC this year is Bevan French who is playing in the halves.
