Parramatta unatractive because of owners.

I find that Parramatta is becoming a very unattractive rugby league team to players who want to move teams or come back to the nrl or whatever. I mean, so many things have been said about us signing players, but really it never happens. SBW is the latest of this bullshit. I think its the owners who just throw out these rumours to try and get publicity in the media. I mean, think of it. Whether its good or bad Parramatta are always in the back page. Who would want to play for Parramatta if they are going to be attacked and harassed in the paper. Come to think of it, our team is mostly parramatta juniors and the only signed we are being able to sign are old rejects and/ or young no namers. The club needs to be sold ASAP. Come to think of it, a rugby league club is actually a business, and this business is very poorly run.

I think that this is kind of a negative blog!

In the end the media determines what they publish. They know that any story about Parramatta will sell papers so we are generally a very popular target.

And if I were coming to play for Parramatta, I would probably be less concerned about the papers attacking me and more concerned about my own fans attacking me, which seems to happen quite commonly on this site!

Parramatta NRLFC is run by a board, there are no private "owners" as such. Would much prefer a club run by the members than one single rich person. You can argue whether this board has done a good job so far or not but they really need to be given at least one year using a coaching team of their choosing. One solid year on the field and all these negative blogs will evaporate.

parraborn, membership is up! we have more season ticket holders than previous years and we have another increase in sponsorship..

with the above being the case how the hell do you come to the conclusion that as a business we're run poorely?

also, there's no doubt in the world that Parra through all their energies into buying a 7 and that experiment has failed to the point that by the time we realised that we couldn't get what we want all the marquee players were snapped up but the intention was definitely there, the fact that we changed coach's after the internal review probably didn't help either.

I dare say that SK will not let this happen again this year.

your assesment in general is incorrect and I suggest you look at the bigger picture in future.

  Yes, all the owners are worried about is there wealth. So money size ok their business is successfil, But u r the one that should look at the bigger picture and the reality is, the big picture is how we play on the field. Since we really arnt winning premierships, i find this a complete failure. I too think SK can turn things around and I hope he does, but I just feel the way the club is run is unnatractive to other players and it is clearly evident with our failures in negotiations.

Well technically, the owners are the members of the Parramatta Leagues Club. And these owners didn't put enough money into the poker machines and therefore the Leagues Club was losing money and so the football operation got a reduced grant last year. That resulted, amongst other things, in the result of the redundancy of the media manager which was a significant contributor to the media leaks which severely damaged our club image, and could potentially have made our club less attractive to potential players.

So I think your spot on, parraborn!

Did I ever mention that the running of the football club, should come under the football board so that season ticket holders are the "owners" and not poker machine players?

your a goose we have signed like 7 players and still have 700 000 left to spend. What do u want. We bought good experienced players for peanuts that will help alot.

I bet your one of those fans that complain that we pay overs for players and now we dont and u complain.
We are doing good kearney is doing what melb did.

Have 4 stars and the rest hard workers and good footballers that dont take up the cap. Even tho they rorted the cap cos slater smith and inglis took all the cap. We are doing a similiar thing in terms of balancing out the talent. Just not paying overs for the stars.

DONT judge until we fail. Think before you speak. Follow your team or find a new one.

We went shit last year and we are doing something about it. Would u rather we kept the same team and know we are gonna go shit again? Would u?

When you start winning football games and making the top 5 most years than players will want to play for your club.

simple as that......

Play like you did last year and you will get out recruited by the sharks the following year !!

It doesn't hurt to win a premier ship or 2 every 10 years either
