EXCLUSIVE: The Parramatta Eels are set to announce interim boss John Boulous as the club's full-time chief executive.Fairfax Media understands the Eels will announce Boulous' appointment next week, ending months of speculation about the position, which was vacated by Scott Seward when he resigned last year.Boulous, the club's former chief operating officer, took charge of the Eels at the height of the Kieran Foran contract saga in June last year.Parramatta target: Rooster Michael Jennings.Photo: Getty ImagesThe highly regarded Boulous becomes the fifth chief executive in as many years at a club that is now yearning for stability at the managerial and coaching level.Boulous joined the club in 2014 after a three-and-a-half-year stint as chief executive of Football Federation Tasmania. He had previously worked with Football Federation Australia. In his brief time in the top job Boulous has had to deal with the club's salary cap issues after they were fined $525,000 last year, working with football manager Daniel Anderson and coach Brad Arthur to ensure the club isn't deducted competition points in 2016 for not adhering to the NRL's demands.New Eels boss: John Boulous.Photo: Dean OslandThe NRL sought an independent governance review of the club's operations not long after Seward stood down after 22 months in the top job.PricewaterhouseCoopers began the review in October and is scheduled to finish in February, with the findings to determine whether the NRL is satisfied the club has met its list of demands. One of Boulous' first major assignments as full-time chief executive will be to oversee negotiations with Michael Jennings, who could be joining the club before the start of the season. The Eels have been in discussions with Jennings, who could be moved out of the Sydney Roosters due to the club's salary cap restraints. It is understood Brisbane's Dale Copley has known for two months that he won't be at the Broncos next season, with the Roosters his likely home if they can manage to negotiate a deal to offload Jennings to the Eels for 2016.Jennings' potential addition is an exciting prospect for the Eels who have been boosted by the inclusion of several big names in the pre-season.Foran, despite a period of uncertainty about whether he would join the club following the renegotiation of his contract, joins the club with plenty of pressure on his shoulders to return the Eels to the top eight.Michael Gordon will provide some spark at fullback, which the Eels missed following the shock departure of Jarryd Hayne at the end of 2014, while veteran Beau Scott will provide some much-needed experience to what is an already intimidating young forward pack.Follow Us on Facebookback to topRelated CoverageSport: The week's best plays01:39Jan 12, 2016, 2:01PM This article contains a video RecommendedFormer St

  • Bad look for the club with all the talk about "jobs for the boys", hopefully he does a good job.

  • BWAHAHAHAHA, well we all called this would happen, i even wrote a blog predicting it would happen and calling sharp out, it was 100% always going to happen, very poor stuff from Steve, another chairman employing his mate as CEO.

    • So why did you have a hissy fit at me last week snake for calling him out??? looks like me and fong were spot on again.

  • First signing will be Jennings. Good timing ?
    • Yes that would be good. As long as he can influence Jennings manager, who happens to be related to Bolous
  • Another interim CEO gets the gig, another high profile appointee with close ties to the board.  Another wet behind the ears CEO they can blame if it all goes pair shaped.    People rightfully whinged when rubbish like this went on with Spags and his cronies.  so what really has changed????   A few of us on here months ago said he would get the gig, but we were told the club would scour the earth for the best candidate and our fears were totally wrong.  lol yeah right, another broken promise from our big mouth Chairman.  Was one of the 129 recommendations to hire the best mate of a board member??  If so 1 down 128 to go...........

    • Well now youve really got something to whinge about lol

I complained when it when it went on with spags, and i was complaining about this before it happened as you and others were, we all knew it would happen, its a poor look and poor form from Sharp imo.

  • Excellent appointment
  • If a new majority is elected onto the board (2018 in June/July I believe) you can almost guarantee that we'll have a new CEO.

  • Strong credentials in Admin??? lol running Soccer in Tassie where 3 men and a dog play??? lol a stooge like Gallop runs Soccer Aus so how far down the totem pole is best mates Boulous???

The only strong credentials he has is bing best mates with a board member, great way to run a club........
