Penrith not getting funding

I was informed this morning that Penrith Stadium will not receive funding to rebuild the ground.

Pepper Stadium was the main competitor to Parramatta to receive funding for an essential upgrade.

With Western Sydney growing at incredibly quick rate, a stadium with a capacity between 30-40,000 is seen as essential to keep up with the growing demand.

The Eels have passed 20,000 members for the second consecutive year and will have more members than their stadium can hold by the end of the 2015 season.

  • Ha great strategy by directors to make sure our membership was good for the last two years
    Well done
I used to like Penrith but not after the last game
    Grubby hypocritical whingers
    • That's extremely exciting news.

    • I think Richard may have written that using sarcastica font.
  • Hopefully this is another sign that a proper Parra Stadium upgrade will be funded. It's not over the line yet though...
    • Expect an announcement regarding funding in two weeks.

  • What? That Wile E. no longer likes Penrith. Not that exciting really.

  • We won't have more ticketed members than what will fit in our current stadium, but very hopeful the upgrade goes through
    • Not ticketed but overall, we have 22,014 members and official capacity of Pirtek is listed at 21,487

  • I understand that at any home game only about 60% of our ticketed members attend. For some strange reason, the ground where most ticketed members attend is Homebush.
