By BRAD WALTERParramatta is expected to be granted salary cap dispensation to accommodate Jarryd Hayne if he wanted to come back to the NRL in a bid to avoid a repeat of the situation that cost the club and the code Israel Folau. While Hayne plans to give himself until next November to decide whether he has a future in NFL, Parramatta officials are set to meet with the NRL about their salary cap position if his bid to play American football didn't work out and he wanted to return for 2016.After losing their biggest star, the Eels are in the market for a replacement - although they may pursue a centre or halfback rather than a fullback - and cannot afford to spend under the salary cap in case Hayne decides to come back. However, they also believe they would have first right of refusal on his services if he was to resume his NRL career after granting the 26-year-old an immediate release from the final year of his contract to enable him to try to make it in the NFL.South Sydney are thought to have a similar understanding with Sam Burgess if he were to return to the NRL after his stint with English rugby union club Bath. Both clubs have struck problems trying to accommodate stars under their salary cap at short notice and Folau's bid to join the Eels after securing a release from his AFL contract with GWS Giants in 2012 ended in tears when he signed with the NSW Waratahs out of frustration and is now one of Australian rugby union's biggest stars. Greg Inglis considered a switch to AFL in 2010 when it appeared the NRL would block his move to Souths.NRL officials have indicated they would not again risk losing a big star to a rival code and are prepared to work with clubs to ensure that doesn't happen.Parramatta chief executive Scott Seward said he would speak to NRL boss Dave Smith about Hayne's situation in coming weeks and was confident of a positive outcome for the club."We will certainly be having that discussion that if it does come to fruition that he does come back how we facilitate that movement back into the game and the exact machinations of how that would happen," Seward said."It is something we are going to have to discuss in more detail with the NRL about how that would work. That is on the agenda for Dave and myself to have a chat about."Meanwhile, Seward and other members of the Eels management team are expected to catch up with Hayne early next month in Los Angeles after a training camp for the club's players with the Seattle Seahawks."We want to keep that link with him and see how he is going, how it is progressing and if there is an way we can help him," Seward said.http://m.smh.com.au/rugby-league/parramatta-eels/parramatta-eels-seeking-salary-cap-dispensation-if-jarryd-hayne-returns-to-the-nrl-20141024-11bcgk.html

  • So there's zero consequence for Hayne leaving Parra. In fact Parra will even help him. FMD! Do whatever the hell you want kiddies, we'll still love you. It doesn't matter who you hurt, as long as you're happy.

    • So what punishment should they hand out to him dad? Don't take him back so he goes to another club and play against us, ye that will teach him a lesson. Or maybe don't allow him back into the nrl so another code snaps him up, ye that will be in rugby leagues favour.
  • Not a fan
  • Ummmm should this salary cap dispensation have not been already sorted out before he left?
    • Exactly, surely the Club & Hayne worked out some agreement so that he comes back to the Club as a condition of allowing him to break his contract.

  • The guy should have left the club ages ago with all the crap going on with the board and the spastics playing around him but he stayed and knocked back big offers from other clubs to stay. Ye spoilt princess lol.
  • I like the way Seward operates.

Me believes this will all go well for Parra.

Who knows, one day the NRL may view us as equals to the likes of the Roosters and Bulldogs.

"He got wider in attack, particularly towards Mam side of the field that helped him poke the nose through and make metres. Brisbane were back peddling the whole second half bar one set on our own line where Samrani stayed down and Reynolds went off."

"De Belin looked way better in his 2nd stint. But his sole purpose is defence, in that portion of the game where Brisbane middles tried to wrestle back momentum in the middle he was solid in defence. "
