WARRINGTON Wolves expect to confirm the signing of Parramatta Eels half back Chris Sandow before Friday’s Super League transfer deadline. The 26-year-old looks set to arrive at The Halliwell Jones Stadium for the remainder of this season on a two-year deal until the end of 2017.After long and complex negotiations, with Sandow reportedly insisting he was owed $200,000 in unpaid third-party agreements, NRL outfit Parramatta appear to have resolved any contract disputes with the Indigenous Australian.“We are very hopeful that we will have secured Chris both for 2016 and 2017 and also for the remainder of the season,” said Wolves chief executive Roger Draper. The deal is subject to Sandow passing a medical and having a work permit approved. However, the former South Sydney Rabbitohs player faces a two-game ban after he took an early guilty plea following a grade two shoulder charge committed in Eels’ loss to Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs last Friday.Meanwhile, captain Joel Monaghan will return to Wolves’ squad for Sunday’s clash with Castleford after a calf injury.

  • Sandow's departure is the best thing to come out of the season so far, but I'm still bewildered on how we even offered this selfish player a contract.
    • Because he was 22 years old and massively talented. How could anyone know he wouldn't improve at all in four years? He was in the emerging Maroons squad FFS.
    • no I meant we offered a reduced contract this year.
    • Oh yeh. I wouldn't have re-signed him beyond this year either. But in 2011 I thought he was a great signing.
    • Yes losing your best player & not winning another game for the rest of the season is such a good thing. Can't believe you people on here are so happy to get the spoon every year.

  • Thank. Fuk

    now the healing can begin...

  • He will look like a superstar over there, that and the money should keep him happy.also a very fitting team for Joel Monahan to be captain of.
    • He'll look like a superstar as long as he can stay on the straight and narrow off the field. It's a long way from home over there and Chris has a lot of maturing to do. Hopefully this is a step in the right direction and it doesn't all end in tears again.

    • Joel's into the Wolves as well eh?
  • Thank u Jesus. Onwards and upwards.
