Excluding 2001 for obvious reasons. What year did you think was Parramatta's best chance of winning a premiership?.
1997, when we lead Newcastle 20-0 before losing and then bowing out the following week after leading that game.
Was it 1998 when we had beaten Brisbane twice during the season before suffering the greatest choke of all time against Canterbury?.
1999, when we were up 16-0 against Melbourne at half time in the preliminary final only to lose 18-16?.
2005 when we were minor premiers but lost 29-0 to NQ in the preliminary final who went on to play Wests who we had beaten twice that year?.
2007 when we lost to Melbourne in the preliminary final, the next week the opponent would of been Manly who were you could say the easier team to face than Melbourne.
The miracle run of 2009.
Or 2017, we lost against Melbourne in controversial circumstances and the following week choked against NQ. If we had won that game we would of played Easts at a sold out SFS for a place in the grand final.

I think 2005 for sure. We deadset choked in that game and with the Dragons already out would have won the GF against the Tigers. We had no issues against the tigers who had a small pack.
Agree. I'm still pissed off about that game!
In order of liklihood for me ...
2005, that prelim final was just painful to watch
1998, Just cos it was the Dogs and Jason Smith was at the absolute peak of his powers that year, injury free, he had it on a string
1999, That was THE year for that group.
2009, it was the GF after all
1997, it was a young team, but...
2000, see 1997
2007, we were geniune 4th that year, but Melbourne were unstoppable and were on a mission. I never felt like we were gonna beat them in the prelim.
2017, hindsight being 20/20, we probably overchieved to a degree.
I think 1998 then 2005 then 2009 then 2017
P. S hay alan i ask mum to can i say this
2001, 1998, 1999, 2005, 2009 because we played against a bunch of cheats
2005
2005 - still don’t know how tht happened??
2001, 1999, 1998, 2005.
The other missed opportunities we played well but really didn’t have the side IMO to really take it.
Oh, what could have been Frank. 2017 and 2009 were equal opportunities in my opinion. But, 2001 was are best opportunity. We showed our dominance in the second half, but Andrew Johns gave us a master class in the first 40 minutes.
I still have nightmares of Tahu catching a bomb on his knees looking up as the ball lands in his lap. In the end, this try broke our backs.
1999 was the year IMO, up 10 nil at halftime and bombed a heap of chances to put them away. In 05 we did have Hindy and Fui out.
