A. 1986 Jersey

B. Current Jersey

Which Eels jersey would you prefer to see at the stadium’s inaugural opening.  Vote

This match will go down in Parramatta's history, just as the 1986 opening did.

 What's your choice?

Also moving into 2020 - Parramatta should be looking at a design closer to the 2017 predominantly blue jersey. It's clean and simple.  It's the best Eels jersey ever in my opinion.

 Best jersey ever.

  • For mine it's  A. 1986 jersey. Our best period was from that era, and this jersey salutes the men who won those 4 premierships.

Price, Cronin, Ella, Kenny, Sterlo, Grothe Gibson.

We need to salute these great men.

  • Chief,

Design-wise the current jersey is cleaner and simpler. I'd keep that for the season.

But for symbolism, respect and sentimentalism, the reasons you stated, I'd go for the 1986 jersey; as an inaugural opening special.

As a good omen - you'd hope to God we win the first match.

    • To be honest h.o.e, im a big fan of the 2017 predominantly blue jersey. There was absolutely nothing wrong with that and it was clean and simple.  Its my preferred choice moving into 2020.

But the current choices for the opening are the choices i put forward as they are both available at this time.

      • Chief, yeah, I agree man with you: The 2017 version is cleaner in its design overall. Overall it wins.

The only one thing about the 2019 that is better than the 2017, imo, is the less-saturated darker shade of blue. It looks like a more serious colour, less clowny, than the brighter higher-saturated 2017 flouro blue. But that is personal choice; and I wear a lot of black.

  • Neither!!!  But the 1986 Jersey is way better than that other crap option

  • I never thought that I would say this but I prefer the current one.  I started following Parra in 79 when I was only 7 years old, and I still have my eighties jersey to this day.  I think the current crop needs to make this stadium their own.  I believe we try to measure up every new player we get against the likes of Sterlo zip zip and Bert.  We should be encouraging them to be the next THEM!  Show us their skills that got them to grade and stop making them try to be someone their not.

    • Agree Muzz. Lets carve out success, not re-invent 30 yr old success.

  • The current jersey is the worst in history & should never ever be seen! I own about 2 dozen Eels jerseys going back 40 odd years but will never own or wear this disgrace.

    • Thanks I won’t buy one then lol . I will keep my oldies hanging up in the wardrobe waiting for the special day again hopefully before the moths eat them . Lol
