PARRAMATTA PLAN GURR ROLE CHANGE

THE performance of Parramatta chief executive Bernie Gurr has been the subject of much discussion at the Eels in recent months.

The board is now in the process of drawing up a strategic plan and Gurr’s role is expected to change.

There is a line of thinking that he spends far too much time with the football team while other NRL chief executives employ a head of football to look after the day-to-day operations.

Board members want Gurr to play a more big-picture, strategic role, to set up a new academy that is similar to Penrith, to fix the junior league pathways, to prepare for the move into the new Western Sydney Stadium and work on other longer-term projects.

  • Not sure if gurr is the right man for that role but our youth system has been shot to bits for years now

Its good we are identifying it as a problem. It is seldom talked about on here and by other groups of parra fans but its is a major issue.

We cant keep up with penrith atm and it shows in our results
    • So people should see this for what it really is , our dipshit board were the ones who agreed to make our CEO head of football which shows one of two things , the board are purely yes men to Max as it would of been one of his tight arse cost cutting ideas or that the board are among the most stupid and inept we have had.

What kind of  board worth anyrhing would agree to to make a CEO their clubs football manager ? This is one of the most unprofessional moves any club has made .

So why the about face ? Well clearly they are worried about the factions going to court and that it will be easy for the factions to show the club is in no better position in 2018 than it was in 2016 , thanks to Max Donnelly the factions have been given the green light and the court case is just the beginning of the eels returning to the good old days of factional terrorism.

No doubt the usual dopes who have a long history of being wrong in everything they have ever said about the club will put their usual bullshit spin on things based on zero facts .

      • isn't your brother-in-law on the board as you previously had stated....repeatedly?

    • Mate its talked about every week here.

  • Well well well .
