Parramatta Media Stories - The Truth

I need to make some stories as clear as I can. I have spent the last 3 days digging into some media stories in search of the truth and have now found very little.DO NOT BELIEVE THE SACK BA STORY!!!There is no truth to it. There is a source to it and I think you can work out its geographical location and the motivation for it.DO NOT BELIEVE THE FEUD STORIESThere is a good working relationship between DA and BA.These media stories are sourced somewhere. It is not coming from the club or anyone inside it.At this stage, the media is succeeding in working Eels fans into a frenzy and making the Foran contract harder to remedy. I cannot answer whether that will get across the line at the moment but as Eels fans we are providing the oxygen for these media assassinations.I cannot stress this strongly enough. This whole situation has been a mess that should not have happened. It is trying to be fixed by those charged with it.Ask yourself, what motivates some of these fictitious stories?

  • Thanks sixties

You don't know how it came about do you and what the key issue is?

    • Which part?
    • Made my day!!
  • I'd believe it... the more and more I think about it I just can't see Foran being upset about the clause being removed, he would not get that anywhere else. Maybe the clause which says he can move on if Arthur is gone but I don't see why parra wouldn't let him have that clause now... the stuffed up but it is better he at least starts with us than never at all.

  • Sixties you may be right with your comments, but the Eels fan on the street has no alternative but to listen to these reports.

Yes there are some crap stories going around but the club is being poisoned from the inside. Anyone who has power at the club, including the board, CEO, BA, DA must stand up and answer the issues being raised to the fans. But no what do they do - they put forward Tim Mannah then Ryan Morgan to front the media. Where is Sharp, Anderson and Arthur? They have not been Hurd or seen in recent times.

I understand that Parra is a massive brand that sells papers, but we have put ourself in this position and have given the media reasons to write stories about us. Let's stop blaming the media and clean up our shit!
    • I think that Mannah and Morgan were part of the usual media call about the upcoming match. Standard stuff but perhaps the media department should have been more savvy in what they were likely to face. I can't really comment too much on that.
One of the issues brought up at a recent members council meeting was about responding to the media. It's a damned both ways issue. In some respects, it only fans the flames and breathes life into stories when the club responds. Like you, I clamour for denials. I've done some digging, as said, and I'm trying to pass on what I've found.
I understand the Eels fan in the street being influenced. I'm trying to do my bit of getting answers for you. I can either keep that to myself or let you know. I choose to let you know.
  • 60s appreciate the attempts to keep the fans calm but the club could easily do this with a press conference.
The fact this has not happened only adds fuel to all the speculation and who can blame the fans, we are a basket case.
Sharp needs to call a press conference immediately and nip all the bullshit in the bud and finish this.
  • I can add some credence to sixties here. There seems to be a line of thought that has been spreading around that the supposed feud between Anderson and Arthur is so bad that the can not even talk to each other. However just two weeks ago during the bye week for our NRL and Holden Cup squads both men were at Belmore to assess Wenty where they had a lengthy conversation through the course of the game.

While the massive missteps made by the club in relation to Foran deserve to be driven home by the media they are taking absurd liberties as they spin a dozen different narratives - nearly of which contradict each other. Everyone is well within their rights to be furious with the state of affairs regarding our most important signing in a long, long time but do not buy into the ridiculous rumour-mongering that the Daily Telegraph and Sydney Morning Herald are currently partaking in.

Solidarity amongst we fans against both the amateur actions of our club AND the insipid tabloid clickbait that is running rife at the moment is our best course of action. Don't help pour fuel on the fire that the journalists want to see run wild.

    • Cheers Forty. People need to pay attention to those who have seen the blokes work together. Think about it. How is it that two blokes who supposedly don't speak are together on a cold night at Belmore watching Wenty run around? That's just a simple recent example for people who believe that these blokes don't speak at all.
  • I hear Manly are back in the saddle to try and retain Foran now. I wondered why Foran played his best game of the season last Friday.
