Very long odds- but if these scenarios happen we can still miss the 8.Stgeorge 26 pts - win 3 games. Play Brisbane, Penrith, Dogs.Penrith 28 pts - win two out of 3, but lose to the Dragons.Cowboys 28 - win 2 from 3 - play Sharks Wests, Broncos.Manly 28 - win 2 from 3 - play Dogs, Warriors, Penrith.Parramatta 32 - lose both games. Play Brisbane, Souths. If the Broncos beat the Dragons tonight we're confirmed finalists for the first time since 2009.

  • I'm going to the Broncos v Dragons tonight, I won't be cheering for the Broncs but I hope they get up. Where are the Raiders at with making the 8 or are they toast? They are one team that worries me if they manage to scrape in to the finals, more so than Dragons or Manly.

    • I'm with you Adam, raiders can do a lot of damage if they get in the 8
    • Yeh Raiders are in he dreaded 'if other results go out way' territory. That rarely ever ends well. Raiders won't make it imo.
    • The Raiders can't dislodge Parramatta, but are a slim chance of making the finals if they win every game
  • The Raiders are sh!t - they are nothing like last year. 10th is probably their spot on the ladder. Cant believe we lost to them twice.

    • Yeah I agree they have been shit all year, performed well below expectations. But they have beaten us twice and if the scenario pans out where we meet them first up in the finals with the loser being eliminated makes me a very nervous. I would much prefer to be playing St George, Manly or the Panthers.

Also the fact that when I watched them play a fortnight ago (can't remember against who) they showed what they are capable of with a really solid performance, and at the right time of the season so long as they haven't left their run to late.

  • Im going to call it, there is no way the Dragons can beat the Broncos, unless the Broncos rest half their team.

Dragons for the last 3 seasons have started strong and look unbeatable, then for some reason they just fall apart halfway through the season scraping together whatever wins they can get to make the 8.

    Dragons are shot.

Panthers & Manly are the teams to worry about.

  • They are lucky in a way as they Penrith, Manly, the Dragons and Canberra all have games against each other

So for example the manly v penrith game becomes one where it will decide who Canberra get ahead of rather then needing both teams to lose against other teams

Still need results to go there way but fewer games then you might rhink need to go the Raiders way
  • I was thinking the same thing too last night Chief, but I can't really see that happening. 34 points should make top 6 easily, so we need to win one of the remaining games. If we win both, there is a good chance of coming second.

  • I don't think we'll beat the Broncos next week at Brisbane. Bevan French should be rested next week. As well as Will Smith played, French is in a different class and our attack looks a little disjointed without French there.

We should take care of business with Souths in round 26.

34 points is a good season considering where we have come from and we've had some gritty wins. Our For and Against though is probably a better reflection of our season.

"Yea he is mainly a 5/8, If Lorenzo for some reason fails, Risati is the next option. He is a bigger body than Lorenzo with a great running and passing game. He turns 18 next year so will be in SG Ball alongside Fletcher.
Long term, I belive we can…"

"EA, do you have any thoughts on Risati? Heard big raps on him. The way people talk about him, he could be a long-term six solution, alongside Fletcher at seven. Who knows. We're talking years down the track, but just curious."
