STERLO’S WARNING TO ARTHUR

Parramatta legend Peter Sterling believes that the Eels must take the right steps to make sure playmaker Corey Norman has put his off-field issues behind him.

Norman officially re-signed with the club on Thursday for a further three years on a deal worth around $2.1 million.

The 25-year-old was one of the Eels’ best this year until a string of dramas derailed his season leading to an imposed NRL suspension.

“I spoke to Brad Arthur last week and he was very complimentary as to what Corey Noman can be,” Sterling told the Triple M Rush Hour.

“He said he’s not a villain but needs some guidance.

“On the field an absolute talent and he said Parramatta would be a far different looking football team if he was there.

“But he’s left the right path on a couple of occasions, not too seriously but that needs to be addressed.

“If he’s signed for three years I think Brad Arthur needs to make sure we don’t have any kind of reoccurrence of what happened this year and a couple of things in the past.”

  • Totally agree with Sterlo, serious steps need to be put in place with Corey to get him a bit more aware of the ramifications of his actions.

  • Why can't we give sterlo a role at the club to coach and guide our halves
    • He doesn't want one. He has 4 media contracts already!
    • I'm sure Sterlo doesn't want a measly $100k to have to drive to Sydney four days a week to dick around with a footy team. He is on millions with his TV gigs.
  • At least he's not calling him the new parra messiah ,look how the last bunch of playmakers sterlo has given the thumbs up to have worked out for us.
  • I completely agree. But with all due respect sterlo you are the person that insisted we MUST do what ever it took to get Foran to the club cause he was exactly the player on and off the field we needed. People come of age and people go off the rails at anytime. I'll put my faith in BA and from what I'm hearing his contract has his off field behaviour taken into consideration. I sure hope so anyway.
  • Only human let the guy have life n off the field like rest them too

  • Oh doesn't sterlo have a very short memory? Wasn't Kieran Foran "the biggest signing in Parramatta's history"? Time to shut your mouth sterlo!
    • That is harsh; he was not the only one to think that. Sterlo is informative, smart and knowledgeable. Legend of the club and always makes sense.

  • Sterlo is human. He's made a few blues over the years including Foran but I think he has got this one right.
