Parramatta Leagues Club privatises the escalators

Tony Abbott declared not so long ago that "nobody gets a free ride". It seems that the Parramatta Leagues club has taken this advice as gospel, by implementing a new user-pays system for the club escalators. The new escalators are not actually owned by the club, but are a joint business venture.Channeling Tony Abbott, former director Roy Spagnolo said "nobody ever got to the top of anything in life without paying somebody, so I don't see why this should be any different".When asked whether this was the start of a new form of class segregation ofmembers, Mr Spagnolo answered "Don't be silly, poor people are used to walking up stairs. We are not implementing this for the poor people, we are implementing this to better assist those upper class members who may not be used to climbing stairs. It is also important to ensure their safety"When it comes to the bottom line, it seems the only way it up for Parramatta.https://mobile.twitter.com/proshenks
