Many clubs are focusing all there resources in there junior system.
Just wanted to ask how parramatta juniors pathways is going.
As noticed this year both sg ball and harold mathews didn't go to well . Also jersey flegg also suffering from up and down season.
Do we have any young players such as Joseph suali coming through ?
Will this improve next year ?

"Such as Joseph Suaalii" His high school teammate, Will Penisini, plays right centre for us.
They both played for and attended the local GPS entity. The Kings School, Suaali is a great player but easily swayed, went from being a very raw talent developed by Souffs then skipped over to the broosters for the money and the promises fro Nick politeness. He'll leave the Chooks as soon as someone comes with a bigger $$$$$$ offer.
Well from what i know, it was only really put in full force in 2019 after that massive review after the 2018 disaster, BA finally had a pathway to bring along talent.
But that is the thing, junior talent and pathways, like Penrith's, do not happen overnight. Takes time. But i think from what you have seen from who has debuted recently, it is quite impressive we've had a few come through already (Penisini, Russell, JA) I think around 2024 we will start seeing an influx of talent.
There's a very genuine focus on it now and significant resources being applied. Names like Woodford, DeGois etc being involved. The thing with junior pathway results is you may need to consider the ages of the players. Often there can be a crop of good kids who are actually a year younger than the age they're playing in. This happens regularly, so they may not get the results that year but perhaps next year? FYI we've won Harold Matt's comps before and debuted no one. The real skill is developing through to successfull NRL appearances. We haven't been great at that in the past.
Mate our pathways are a job for the boys unfortunately we are going to loose our next bunch of talented kids to other clubs because of this . Degois and rogers hands are tied it's very frustrating. If the club was serious they would hire the best coaches not hand them out to mates. I would be surprised if there is not a big shake up after what happened this year . I know for a fact that Gus at the bulldogs is only concerned about his u14's and 15's development squads and is going all into developing that age group . Penisini Russell ja were all coached by Arthur at rouse hill so was Sam lasou has nothing to do with our pathways.
wheres the proof?
We will have to wait and see brissy seems to be working pretty well out at Penrith.
You don't think someone like Gus isn't aware of that ?
I mean I know he's not everyone's cup of Earl Grey, but I'm pretty sure he knows what he's doing.
Spot on mate
I think what that means is that Gus is focusing on getting the structure in place to capture kids at that age first. There's no point in focusing on the older age groups now as it's largely somewhat too late for them in the bigger picture. As those 14-15 year olds progress through the age groups, those kids will have had the grounding that say an 18 year old Bulldogs junior hasn't had. Gus isn't the one down there doing the coaching, his job, as it was in Penrith, is to put in place the right people & structure to make it happen.
That's why it takes at least 5 years to see the fruit of that system, because you're starting at the 14-15 year age group.
