Parramatta interested in QLD Cup Forward

At least five NRL teams, including the Parramatta Eels and St George Illawarra Dragons, are reportedly interested in securing one of the best front-rowers of the 2024 QLD Cup season.

An Australian Schoolboys representative, Cooper Jenkins has become one of the most in-demand forwards on the market after a sensational season in the QLD Cup for the North Devils that has seen him score six tries, make 288 tackles and average 95 running metres per game - 1622 total running metres.

Standing at an impressive 193cm and 110kg, the 23-year-old is looking to progress from the reserve-grade competition and earn a contract with an NRL team for next season.

  • Let's get him to the BLUE & GOLD

  • I believe he is with Dolphins right? Swap deal for Reg

    • I wouldn't use RCG for a swap deal for a rookie, why not try a swap deal for a decent player and get Jenkins. Best of both worlds.

    • Reg is gone. He's no longer an Eel.

      • he must of been paid out

        • No, both parties (Reg and Eels) mutually agreed to terminate his contract at the end of 2024. No payouts needed.

          • Bravo to management for being able to make this arrangement. I hope we can strike similar deals with a few other players.

            • why would reg agree to that? Sounds odd

              • Same as Lomax with Dragons

Only way to agree the release to get the new contract for mote Years.

Reg could of stayed 1 year with no guarantee that the next offer would still be on the table.

This helps him get the 2 or 3 year deal he wants and we don't pay any of it freeing up all his money

              • Reg wants a 3 year contract on good money. Eels couldn't offer him that.
I'd suggest Reg has either signed or is about to sign with another club for 25-27. He needed a release from the Eels to do that.
