The Parramatta Eels have extended their deal to play games out of TIO Stadium in Darwin for further 3 seasons, taking their commitment to 12 years with the Northern Territory. This is wonderful for NT and Parramatta moving forward.
Majority of our results have been positive, new fans, new exposure to talent and good for some money for the league and the club. Win win for all involved, it is great that NT are so happy with us also to keep us longer.

As long as it's the raiders not cowboys
This year it's the Broncos
Broncos thats right
Sorry not a fan of this, we often play a QLD team and i get that but to me its one more game away in a v different climate etc. and one less for fans in Sydney.
The club will never agree to playing a Sydney team up there, all out 20k plus home crowds last season were against Sydney teams, the Broncos only drew 11k. 11k at CommBank is a financial loss, 5k in Darwin is a financial win.
I know it's good for the game but have never been a fan of this.
Would rather another home game or at least make it against another Sydney team instead of a Queensland team who are use to the climate.
Each to their own. I understand what you are saying, issue with playing another Sydney team is we are such a big market in Sydney, if they play another Sydney team they would lose a bit with less fans, playing say GC not as many fans would go the game anyway so no issues taking it to Darwin. Though Brisbane would get a crowd anywhere to be fair, but ANZAC Round, they want to take a game there due to the connection the NT has to the armed forces and it's a prime time Friday night game, they needed them to play a top team, Brisbane was that.
Brisbane, Gold Coast, NQ, Canberra, Redcliffe, Warriors and maybe Melbourne are the only clubs i see us playing up there due to how they get crowds in Sydney.
Brisbane is the only one that would get a big crowd at a Sydney game. So i agree to an extent, but also that's how i feel they have worked it out. I would love for us to play say Cronulla or St. George Illawarra up there. Or even better Melbourne or Canberra who are adapted better to cooler weather.
The Broncos were our smallest home crowd this season, just 11k.
Well there you go, thanks for that stat Brett.
Every year I plan to take my family to Darwin every year I can't justify the cost of the flight.
I lived in the NT and as it shows with the crowds the people of Darwin love it.
That been said if they took a game to somewhere in NSW I'd prefer that
