In the past NRL players headed overseas to England to play a season or two in the Super League just before they retired. These days there seems to be a new location for these players to go....Parramatta. Some people in rugby league circles are likening us to the Roosters team from a few years back, when O'Meley and Fitzgibbons were still running around for them and they were criticised for retaining and buying older players. However Parramatta are taking it to a new level. With the additions of Carl Webb and Casey Maguire and our pursuit of players like Barrett, Kimmorley and Orford our team is looking more like the a masters team. I'm all for experience but when you read player profiles and see the words...former Test player, former Queensland representative, you start to get a bit worried. We already have retained Hindmarsh, Burt, Grothe and Moi Moi, I have no problems with this but when we import players that have only a year or two to offer at best, what chance do we have of building for the future

It all comes back to our retention decisions earlier this year getting rid of a number of players who had years left in them!!
And before you jump on me about Price, Rocket, Gerrard and others, think about the average age of the players when they laced on the boots.
At least all our NEW buys should have come cheap! I mean no-one else really wanted them.
look at what happened with mortimer - you need big game experience.
