BBE They want to grow the females game slowly so no set timetable to increase teams. The comp also only a few rounds.
Not sure of the criteria when they chose which teams but Cronulla didn't get a team, and they were leaders in female participation and won smaller comps before NRL took over. The other sides had to pillage the Cronulla women's comp to field teams.
It Iis a good move as I think it would destroy the game if they try to have to many teams or extend the season to quickly. The NRL should actually be commended on how they have handled the women's game starting small without getting over excited once they saw a little bit of interest and flooding the market with a poor product as cricket Australia did by extending the big bash by am extra month.
Only 4 women's teams currently: Broncos, NZ, Dragons and Easts. You would think that Parramatta City, being the centre of greater.Sydney, Parramatta has to be one of the next women's teams.
Add Bankwest stadium, the financial wealth of Parramatta Leagues and the new stability of the Parra board it will happen sooner rather than later.
"This "academy" is whiffy...It only exists on his FB and insta, no prices or dates available.
Does this feel well run and a real chance for youngsters to get a leg up?...or a money spinner for Jarryd posing as helping youth and "giving back"
