Parra Sign Josh Hodgson for 2023

Parra sign Josh Hodgson as a replacement for Reed for 2023 . I believe it is a good signing because of his experience, he has played a grand final, he is an international player and he can be a mentor for the younger players coming through the system .

  • Get rid of 23 year old Hooker to signs a 33 year old washed up hooker. Get rid of 2 young second towers, chase T Sims a has been. Typical parra. 😂😂😂😂

    • Yeah Parras fault but if the players want the money over loyalty then so be it . Gaining experience players isn't a bad thing . Hodgson could mentor the young hookers coming through which will benefit our future

    • How old was Ennis when he went to the Sharks ? Because he totally transformed that team.

      • That's a fair point

        • Ennis was in much better nick than Hodgson, actually he was smart enough to get out pretty much intact for a Hooker.

I go back to what Krupty said, Innis is there to mentor the hookers not hold Hodgson's hand. The only way that makes sense would be Hodgson coming straight away.....can the dogs afford to pay Reed for this year?

Now the question arises how much bad blood may exist with Reed if he wanted desperately to get out.

Thinking again about this, Simmoson and Hogdson coming from the Raiders straight away maybe the leverage for Reed to go to the dogs and Cotric to the Raiders.....straight away.

We get a fast winger/back utility we desperately need and a wily hooker to replace an unhappy hooker. I'm not as negative us getting Hodgson on that basis as I am about him starting 2023. He could be a medical retirement in his second year.

  • Fair dinkum.

  • Think this one through.
Mick Ennis has obviously had a lot to do with this one. He rates Hodgson and as players seem to exit Canberra it would appear there's some reason for it.  He believes he can add something here.
Hodgson is a leader. He will provide excellent mentoring of younger rakes which are coming through our system.
Hodgson is waaaaay cheaper than Mahoney for 2023. I doubt our Hooker signings are done with just yet.

    • I'm expecting a snake up this season with hodgson coming to us and reed going to dogs, watch this space.
