Parra set to lose another promising junior.

Rabbitohs reel in baby Eel for 2017

By The Mole
July 16, 2016

SEASON 2016 may be a write-off but the Rabbitohs are already planning a resurgence in 2017.

The Bunnies have have secured the signature of one of Parramatta’s most promising forwards in Tyrell Fuimaono.

A junior Kangaroo and NSW under-20s player, Fuimaono trained with the Eels squad at the start of this year and could push for a top-grade spot at Souths next season.

Versatility will help his cause – he’s big enough to play edge back-rower and fast enough to handle himself in the centres.

  • Actually he's a bit too small for edge forward and a bit too slow for centre. Very good footballer though. He will get better opportunities at Souths than if he had stayed.
    • You could be right Pou as you would see more of our juniors than what I do. Would of been nice to see him get a go in fg for us to see if he has anything to offer us.

    • I've only seen him on telly. He might be bigger and faster in real life.
    • Makes all the rep teams nudger? Ben Jones captained the Australian under 20s side.
Anyway I'm not saying Fuimaono won't become a first grader, just that he's no great loss.
  • must go alright makes all the rep teams

    • Fair call Nudger, but so did Chayse Blair

  • 188cm
    95kg (20 years old)
  • No huge loss for mine.

He has more opportunity at Souths than here and hasn't kicked on as well as the club have wanted him to.

    • I'll take Ricky's assessment of our juniors over most others as he has been pretty spot on over the years.
  • I've seen him play a couple of times and he looked good - like many others.

I thought this happened a number of weeks ago?

"I got excited thinking maybe a Winger, but seems he is a middle forward. We have plenty of them coming through with Talagi, Koina and Popo.
Hopefully he can be an edge where we have Funa-Iuta and Petrus as the only really great prospects in junior…"
