Parra's grand final

Let's face facts. Parramatta, courtesy of the evidence from its for and against, has proven that attitude or mental application, is its greatest problem. To my way of thinking, recruitment of key personnel from a winning club, and probably in the forwards, is the likely solution. We certainly have some talent in the forwards but we lack something, whether it's leadership, aggression, doggedness or just plain tough head play.So to the grand final for the Eels. It was definitely the Manly win and rather than steeling us for the finals it set us up for failure. That's the attitude issue. We were up mentally for that game and then the follow up has been there for all to see. As I left parra stadium that night, I said to my mates, well that's made my season. I now suspect that too many of the players felt that way too. I think we need look no further than our performances at home compared to our away games to see that attitude is probably 100% the reason for our failure to qualify (remember that we only needed one more win). It's over to you Mr Arthur.

  • We got to learn HOW to WIN AWAY FOR HOME it was nice we know how to win at home now but have to win away games to
    • I agree Paul. If the GF was played at Parramatta Stadium, the Eels would win the comp. Away from home is terrible.
  • Sixtiesboy, the top teams can bring out the best in their opponent. Now looking back I wish Parra had played Roosters, Rabbitohs and Sea Eagles in the last 3 rounds.
    • Attitude mate. The top teams can also blow away nobodies. We battled for virtually every win this year but did not make others battle to beat us. Hence our for and against issue.
  • That is true. Maybe Parra are also lacking arrogance.
  • If my ream wad in the finals I would hate to play Storm in Melborne. A sure way of getting bumped off 1st round.

"Agreed. I won't renew him no matter how well he plays. He was still sketchy yesterday. He is a good impact bench player against tired edges and Moses slipping him balls. "

"Hmmm. The only in would be Moretti for me. Maybe. I'd let him maybe have more time in reggies first. I'd keep Guymer.
So basically, same team. Yes even De Belin. I want De Belin to be in the team first few rounds then things will change IMO. Him…"

"The only change we need to make is Hopgood back to 13 and JDB to 18 man. Not sure why he needs a spot in the squad as he is only practically here for 1 year and really provides nothing more than what Hopgood or Doorey can do for 25min. Walker has…"
