Parra's best signings since the turn of millennium

Alot of dedicated discussion goes around parra fans regarding the worst signings weve made. And yes there is alot of them, whether its mossop or hock or sandow or justin poore there is just so many of them that it had almost become a cultural facet of being a parra fan..

But its strange that not alot of effort goes into talking about some of the better signings. While yeah i agree there is that many to talk about  i think its a topic that should be addressed more not only for Parramatta but for the NRL in general.

Me personally, i think weve made some great additions and while many of them have been in the last 2-3 years there are still a few that go unlooked.

Players that come to mind more recently include Taka (forming his unbelievable partnership with semi, his versatility and his initial rejection from other tigers) , Guth (due to his versatility, IDG (for the immediate benefits he provided as a backup)  ,Peats (toughness and culture), Semi (unbelievable gem) and Norman (no further explanation)

While looking back a bit further you would kevin kingston, joe gavaluo (similar to takairangi), Fuifui, Timana Tahu (05-07 only!) and Jason Taylor would also be on top as some of the better signings that weve made..

Thoughts???

  • Gutho
  • Jason Taylor. Finally had a quality halfback that took us to a GF in 2001.
    • But sadly there was no forward thinking. 2002 saw us put our gun hooker into the 7 jersey and lose out in both positions.
    • X 2 was a very worthwhile signing
    • Brian Smiths grandmaster plan was to have PJ marsh to takeover from JT.
Pj marsh signed with warriors. Brad drew would of been plan B or C
  • Michael Beutner was a goodie for us.

  • Brad Drew another!

    • Good call!

    • I think the title means 2000 and onwards.
  • Yeah, but we resigned him from the Northern Eagles and getting him back was a good thing.

"You really think Barnett would accept a CO? I mean he has plenty of suitors and is an Origin forward, he wont accept a CO from us."
