We're sitting in 8th position but we don't have to face any of the top 3 teams in the comp until the finals (if we make it). No Roosters, No Bunnies and no Storm. We're the only team that has that advantage over others that will be fighting for a top 8 finish.
The bad thing is we have the Broncos and Raiders on neutral ground at TIO (Darwin) as home games but we get the Tigers at Bankwest as an away game.
Overall, we SHOULD make the 8 from the remaining draw.
In only 5 of the remining 12 games do we face current top 8 opposition.
I just hope the cricket score the Storm put on us doesn't cost us the season.
We need to finish on 30 points to be sure to make the 8. We have 12+ bye=14 which mean 8 wins from the remaining games.
We should beat Dogs. Titans, Manly, Wests and Warriors (who are notoriously poor travellers). The other games are 50/50's. If we beat the Sharks this weekend that will be massive and will balance the unexpected loss to the Panthers.

Parra fan I think as there are so many bunched up teams on the ladder at the moment that 26 points should make the cutoff for eight spot , subject to differentials?? . We need to have a positive differential to get through to semis with minimum of 26 points . It’s so important for Parra not to get flogged when they lose games from here on in - no melbourne storm type of repeats lol
Indeed. The big win over Wests was washed away by the Storm (pun intended). Say a 44-10 loss would have been sweet in hindsight because it would have had us on top of the Sharks and Manly in 6th place.
The other thing I didn't mention the other night was Moses idiotic decision to go for a field goal with a minute remaining. The game was sown up. Going for a try would have been more beneficial than for the extra point. I can understand going for a FG with 5 mins to go to wrap in up but not his 2nd attempt. Shows lack of looking at the bigger picture. We're such a dumb team. A converted try would have landed us in 7th position.
Glad someone else picked that up about Moses. We were on top and the win was sealed so he definitely should have tried to extend the lead and add to the differential.
Yes agreed MM did not look at the bigger picture He was obviously too excited over winning that game - a change from the 3 previous losses . Should be an interesting game v Sharkies this weekend . A win would be very sweet for the eels .

Yes I did think that also after the failed attempts . However He did not nail either kick so a lot more practice needed some other way lol .
A few losses and we drop down to 12th really quickly. On form alone I think we’re sitting well above where we deserve to be.
I just don’t see enough in our middle third to match the good sides. Sure Brown coming back will help but we need a lot more than that. I think we miss the 8
Our draw could not be any better, we’ve got a shiny new stadium with great supporter base...now all we need is for the bludgers to give it all they’ve got for the full 80 x12 ! That’s only about 15 hours left to earn their fat juicy $$ ...they better get cracking :)
That’s a great insight Parra Fan ... if we still dont make the eight without playing the top teams we certainly don’t deserve to be there. Have to say Im less confident about it. If we can lose to Penrith then we can lose to anyone. Need to see a few more games before we can say we’ve turned a corner ... and an away win would be nice.
We have Brisbane at Bankwest not at TIO, It’s a misprint. Lol why would we play 2 games in a row at Darwin?
