WHILE Eels insiders are now resigned to Josh Papalii staying in Canberra, there appears to be brighter news on the Corey Norman front.
Norman's manager, Paul Sutton, travelled to Brisbane this week to continue talks with the Broncos.There was no new deal, however, with Norman wanting to see how he fares at fullback against Manly tomorrow night before making a call.
Brisbane also did themselves no favours with a paltry first-up offer.
They've since upped the ante to compete with Parramatta.

This is written by Josh Massoud, who as we all know has a direct line through to the big cheeses at the club, so it appears we can pretty much write off Papalii. This is really a massive blow to the club. We finally got the right player that would have filled a massive void, and he appears to have decided to stay where he is, despite us offering considerably more money.
It's already pretty apparent that we can't sign established rep players so that leaves your only play to try pick the upcoming stars and overpay for them before their value skyrockets. Pretty much your left playing Fantasy Football. And if we can't even seal these deals, it really just leaves you trying to pick up second-chance players, who aren't getting a go at their current club and who want new opportunities and that's REALLY difficult in terms of recruitment.

I'm not sure if Parra_11 deleted his own post after the rant from Sinbad, but Sinners that was totally unacceptable and you can consider this an official warning not to make abusive comments against other members. I'm cutting you a break, because its a couple of days before the opener, but otherwise you'd be taking days off.

Mate, that's not going to help because we're not getting these players despite already offering more money. Money is not our issue. We have 14 players or something off contract, we have more money to spend than any other club in the League this year if we can find a player who actually wants to join us.

Raiders have a cry because he is one of their juniors and nearly force him to stay, its pathetic but they dont give two sh@ts when they buy some other clubs juniors. They stated he never wanted to leave, than why did he sign a legally binding contract to say he will be playing at a different club for the next 3 years, my advice would be to him if you didnt want to leave maybe dont go rushing in and signing a contract with a different club and really think about it.
Lastly if he doesnt come, i guess the only good thing is that he didnt go to another club and stayed loyal, but I dont think you can call him loyal after this little number,signed contracts are taken for granted this day and age.
Lol if it is true well then it's simply another disappointment that we seem to be accustomed too. Being an Eels supporter is a tough gig but Parra should certainly launch legal action if not to get the contract validated then simply to teach a damn lesson.
In my opinion you should not be allowed to sign any contract and then renege on it, it simply isn't responsible nor morally right either. I tire of all this bullshit, Ricky & the team went above & beyond from what I have read and to have this slapped in their face is pathetic.
But don't expect the NRL to change anything, just look at the whole Izzy thing, they never learn from their mistakes and common sense to some falls on deaf ears in the halls of the NRL that's for sure.
He hasn't done anything that the NRL rules don't permit. No legal action I'm afraid!
