I don't think Joash would have positioned himself to score the try that Iongi scored. Both players have reasonably sharp acceleration but their top speed doesn't compare to their contemporaries.
The other thing is that a number of breaks were made through the middle and Joash should have been there, he hung back a bit too much. I agree with the popular rhetoric at this stage, he is a handy fullback back up and it stays there.
Iongi on the other plain is the potential, first up in this game and he only "had a game" not a stand out.
Our defense and line speed was the main problem in the Souths game.....it comes from Rylie and the edge forwards need to stand up in the front line. Moses was guilty on 3 occasions in the tries that Souths scored, he should not be defending the front line. It is where most of his injuries have come from and he needs a lock to run with defensively to give him that necesary minding that many of the top halves have had over the years.
Good question, most of our forwards are flat out looking after their own work, another reason we need a strong 5/8. In saying that I am not sure how Renzo then fits.
It's really the fullbacks job to be supporting those line breaks up the middle. Iongi' has been missing his assignment here all year. I reckon we have slaughtered 20 tries this year through poor support play. Our fullback needs to follow the ball more and sniff out these opportunities
"A Nay for me in terms of recruitment. However for reaching 350 a big AYE.
He is a Poonce of the highest order, but anyone getting to 350 games is pretty amazing in the most brutal professional team sport on Earth. Well Done DCE."

Well he did do that in the try he did score but anyone will do, there lies the problem.
