Panthers vs Roosters

Watching the game, I thought I would create a blog to see how we would go against two of the best teams in the competition. I found the reffing to be very good and it turned out to be a very closse game. It was really a game of three halves. The start and end of the game was dominated by Roosters possession whilst the middle part of the game was dominated by Panthers possession. It really turned out to be who could stop the opponents momentum the quickest. I am not the biggest fan of those types of games because there was no real set to set grind. Thoughts?

  • You had me up until the game of three halves bit....  Everyone knows there are four halves in a game!

  • The Roosters started very fast, whıich is typical of their style of play, but it appears they can only maintain that intesity for 10 minutes now. After the intial 10 minute 'blast' from the Roosters, the Panthers were right back in it.

    • When the Panthers got on top you could see how much the Chooks are missing Cooper Cronk this season.

      • Yep. They're definitely not as good as they were.

        • Flannagan is a pretty fringe NRL player in my opinion. He is just in a very good side. In terms of attack and controlling the game, he is no where to be seen.

          • I think he’ll be good eventually, and the Roosters are the ideal team for him to get better in, but right now they struggle depending on him, which in turn impacts on Luke Keary.

  • Eels are and will always be by team.  If Panthers end up taking it out, will be destroyed for the eels, but those that know me ( PT ) in person, Panthers are my second option.

  • Just glad a western Sydney team got up dieters have no salary cap a good win bye the panthers flustered the rorters

  • I was genuinely surprised that the Roosters got that close after last week. Getting thumped like that is usually a two week turnaround.

I agree that the officiating was good primarily because Gerard Sutton just stayed out of the game, he let the players figure it out.

"Randy,  An interesting one.
I suppose coaches trust certain players or believe they're the best fit for the team, even if club form or a high minute count aren't there.
I'd choose you for x-factor even if you only had 5 minutes of form."

"Hoe, I dislike the idea that a player can be selected for Aust with only 480 club minutes on show...and not all of them good. How can he have form without playing?
Perhaps a rule that said 10 nrl games to be eligible for Aust would help everyone"
