The wonderful new state government y'all voted for decided it was too expensive, so now they are going upgrade BlueBet Stadium instead.

They don't need a new one anyway.
1. It's only used by one team for only half a year.
2. Other than the last 4 years of dominance, it would probably be less than half full when they are having a bad season. They can't even get a good crowd at Accor for a finals game after all that dominance.

Aye I remember before 2020 watching games on the telly that were being played at Penrith Stadium, always plenty of empty red seats on the camera. They only got 35,000 for the preliminary final against Melbourne. There was only 17,000 for their sudden death elimination final match against New Zealand in 2018. When we played North Queensland back in 2017 at Stadium Australia we brought 44,000.

It's so frustrating that a club like us that actually has a big fan base and heaps of resources is still screaming out for success. Then you have clubs like Penrith, easts, and Melbourne who have part time fans and have all the success. It's a cruel game.
"I'm not sure how a court could determine what is a fair settlemt in the NRL sphere. Unless they use the value of Lomax contract as a baseline, or do you use the precedent set by the Dogs when they paid Brisbane $500k for Oloapu? There are far too…"
"So Melbourne storm were dodgy and then still did the right thing and uploaded their dodgyness to the nrl portal thingy... This is comical stuff. The audacity and arrogance of the melbourne storm offends me as it should ALL nrl fans. This is our game…"
"Mate the NRL can't take over once the Court hands down its ruling. If the Courts decide the release is valid, that's the end of it. Vlandys, Melbourne and anyone else has to abide by the terms of the release. Because once a Judge rules it becomes…"

You think ? Rather it just be our home ground lol
I thought they were going to take out the old race track and build there so they can keep Penrith park as is since they want to keep their run going.
Oh well, it is still our home, it will only be there's for a year or two.

Nevertheless, they were promised a new stadium.

Why would it be used for just 1 team? If they built a new stadium with better facilities other events/Games will be played there.
They are also going to get a Womens team soon in the NRLW.
Wow.
Someone having a go at a government for saving tax payers money.
Pure genius.
