Pains me to say it... but Junior is the key

Even with the scenario of Watmough leaving, we will still need to shed another decent player in 10 days to play for points.

The critical point here is we dont want to shed a player we want to keep next year.

Paulo wont be around after this year, thats a fact.

Sticky has indicated that he wants him now and we refused. So the hard call needs to be made.

If he stays, I cant think of anyone with the cap that can take on our players. And even so, it's a player we probably want to keep.

Its all or nothing now.

Thoughts?

  • Junior has to go now if it frees up cash the pity is now we are in no place for negotiation weve lost our bargaining power with him, junior must go now, we cant afford to lose any top flight players.

I dont even think we should bother getting our cap down straight away, play for no points if it means that, id rather play for no points than lose a bloke like Semi.

    • Greenberg wants a head chopped in the current eels roster to save face.

If we package Watmough and Paulo, NRL will clear Watmough on his insurance claims. It's quite simple i think, we need to demonstrate a hit to our current playing roster.

    • Exactly Snake.

    • Watmough, Peni and Vai?

    • Thats easy, they so far refused to release Sisa Waga and he's playing for Mounties.

He goes to Rugby, they get Paulo.

  • FFS mate. The only player that needs to go is Watmough.
    • PM that probably wont be correct, you only get a percentage of chocs salary back, i dont think that will be 550k+

    • This is what I keep hearing too
    • I'm going to be optimist to say here for the record. We will keep the majority of the squad for next year.

No replacement will be signed for departing Paulo. A wicks will step up and alavro to bench.

Peats or degrios (300-400) will be lost, money to be given to Norman (500+ money above)

      I can live with that.

Onwards and upwards. Nothing will drag us down
    • Don't forget morgs is heading to Melbourne
