Overrated - Chad Townsend
Underrated - Jake Averillo
Agree. Townsend is completely overrated now. Cowboys have no idea what they have got themselves into. 3 year deal on so much money. After finally freeing some space from injury prone Michael Morgan, they buy a player way past his prime.
Averillo looks a good player. However, he is not a halfback. I believe his future is at fullback. He does not have the kicking ability for a half. He is very quick and good runner of the ball.
Averillo would make a good centre. Quick and can beat a man. Good player.
He played a lot of centre and five-eight at jnr level.
I like Averillo as a 5/8, just give him a licence to run
Townsend is the halfback that Flanagan won a comp with. Flanno must be a genius then.
Few years ago when Townsend was good
Even then I thought they won in spite of Townsend not because of him. But as EA said, he's regressed badly since then. I agree, I think the Cows have already got buyers remorse over both CT & Tom Deardon. Scott Drinkwater just shits all over both of them.
I think drink water still has heaps of potential. Townsend is obviously gone. Dearden is such a liability in defence. Worse than ja IMO in defence. Decent runner of the ball.
Overated - Dylan Edwards. The guys attacking ability is horrible. The only thing he contributes to Panthers is his running meters which is around 200m p/g. I really think he is one of the reasons why Panthers cannot beat storm and why they are so hopeless without N Cleary. Edward's doesn't offer much. Panthers attack completely revovles around their halves and Yeo. Panthers need to find a better fullback IMO to win a comp. They say Staines future is at fullback, but he looked ordinary there against us, espicially the high ball. I would consider S Crichton at fullback if I was panthers.
Underated - RCG. Eels fans on here have absolutely loved him. But across the NRL, I do not think RCG's return to form has received a lot of recognition.
