OUR YOUNG TALENT NEVER GETS A GO

Why are we the only club that doesn't ever give some of our young talent a go in first grade? That is why we have some of our best young kids to come through at other clubs. Guys like Blake Green, James Maloney, Trent hodkinson, Jorge tafua, etc etc all playing elsewhere because we never rolled the dice and gave them a go! Here we are playing a guy like Luke Kelly in first grade where he wouldn't get a run in 1st grade at any other club. We need to give guys like Matterson and ZDC a go! What do we have to lose apart from losing the 2 of them next season. This is where Jack Gibson was a master. Every week he would grab an under 23 player and put him on the bench in first grade. He would give him the last 15 min to blood them. The next year they would become first grade regulars, Peter Sterling, Brett Kenny and co all were given a go. I can't remember the last time we produced a local superstar apart from Jarryd Hayne.

    • What's so funny dude?
  • Possibly cap restraints? Not sure, but now is an ideal time to start blooding new players. Remember Jason Taylor did it with Hayne and Inu from memory...?

  • Ever heard of the Salary cap simon?

And ZDC and Matterson are hardly 1st grade standard, neither will be here next year from all reports.

BA is stuck with playing Kelly.

    • They both won't be but it would be fairly demoralising to play some great games and never get a look in. Watch these guys blossom at their new clubs.
  •  John Falou, Kaysa Pritchard, Daniel Alvaro, Beruta Fariamo, all given a go this year.

  • You mean the young talent who are getting flogged most weeks in the 20s and Wenty? We are shit across all three grades. There is no one decent to bring up. Terrible recruitment and coaching across the whole club.

    • I completely agree, a dependence on size has annoyed me though i think it starts with the junior and senior comps they are nowhere near as good as before.
  • You clown, at least pay someone with a brain to write your bs.
Looks like you have no understanding of our cap issues.
    • It's not my job to know about cap issues mate. If the club can't manage it properly that is not my concern. My concern is that we have more of our own talent playing at other clubs rather than ours. We need to start blooding them earlier. So from one clown to the another clown I don't need to pay anyone to write by BS Kurupt cos I don't write BS.
