I think our forwards could be the reason we will win or lose games....when they dominant we always win...against storm in the finals they were breaking the advantage line...kings quick play the balls and directions allowed our back line to spread the ball early and gain metres...looking at our team we do have Kane Evans but i see our forwards who on their day can play amazing as our means of winning as our backline has the strike power and x factor..i mean gutho french hayne plane norman moses....we are lucky Brown and 2nd rowers Mau in particular makes soo many metres. Also King should be 9...from my experience of playing he reads the game better than Pritchard as he has the Footy IQ and we were playing soo much better when he is on...Pritchard should be impact hooker but then again i think Smith offers more as the utility player to cover hooker, fullback, wing, playmake more than him so where does that leave pritchard.
Whats everyones thoughts?
Cant wait for Round 1!!!
Gee i think the NRL has been scripting premierships last few years as TV money means more than anything...ala Rabitohs, Sharks and cowboys first premiership, cronk winning for storm....imagine Hayne the prodigal son returning to win the premiership for the eels against the NRL cashcows Broncos or storm....the party we will be having from ANZ to church st to Parra leagues. 2001 and 2009 i dreamt but maybe this year....Parra 2018!!!

Our weaknesses are;
1. Lack of edge forward depth, we only have 3 genuine edge forwards, Mau, Moeroa and Edwards, if two get injured we could be in trouble although we do have T-Rex who hopefully can step up, we also have some middle forwards that can play on the edge but not ideal.
2. Lack of size in our forwards, we got run over by monster packs last year and it will probably be a problem again this year.
One area we are probably in a better situation than any other club is the depth in our playmakers, Norman, Moses, Gutho and Hayne plus add in Will Smith and even French as far as fullback goes.
Storms monster pack was being done over by our midgets in the 2017 semis and cheating was required for Storm to win that game. The following week v Cowgirls we did not bring the same high level standards we set against the Storm and it is here where our standards of consistency must improve week in week out if we are to go all the way and win the big one in 2018. One week we're up, the next week we're flat.
I think we may see Taka transition to an edge forward this year adding to our depth there.
If they are scripted it is in the NRL's best interests that the best supported team in Sydney wins one, so this year or next for the eels.
I agree Rosay! It’s so obvious!
I think the Eels main weaknesses are the potential uneven calls from the referees. The Eels should have beaten the Storm in last years final series but for some very dubious wrong referee calls that were so obvious that blind Freddy could see it.
I Agree with you Monto we were rob big time against storm last year
