Our players are good enough. The coach isnt

Last night was not pretty. It was awful. We were dominated by a weak, weak knights team.It hard to believe the same team minus the big semi trailer could go from top 4 to 2 wins and 11 losses in one season. However its a common thing in world sport. Our prime example would be souths. The very same team who were absolutely atrocious for two seasons have all of a sudden become a premiership contenders. The only thing they changed about their team besides picking up gagai was move michael maguire on.Its really hard to believe that a team that was so poor and boring last season could all of a sudden be premiership contenders and one of the most exciting teams in the NRL just by bringing in Gagai. The only logical answer to souths rejuvenation has to be in the change in coaching staff. Seibold has completely rejuvanated that very same team, coning with no loyalty to any player at the club. He made the tough decisions like drop farah which have made them the dark horse of the compComing back to parra. We are in the same boat as souths. We have the players imo but the coach has lost the dressing room. Gutho can stand up for the coach in public but it seems like a load of rubbish. I really believe the players have just had a gut full of Arthur and are playing the way they are because of boredom stemming from a stale coaching structure.A change is necessary

  • Didn't the Roosters go from last or second last one year to winning it the next?

I could be wrong, as I'm hungover like a bastard, but they had a very similar roster if my dusty memory serves me correctly..

    • Canterbury in 2008 came last and became one of the most dominate teams in 2009 with a change in coach. However, they did sign a few players that year
  • SACK HIM NOW and the dh player who dont give a shit about being blue and gold

  • 100%

They love BA but a new coach needs to come in and make these weak buggers accountable.

  • Only 3 other coaches in our history have had longer stints as head coach then BA,

    Vic Hey 1948-53

    John Monie 1984-89

    Brian Smith 1997-06

Brad Arthurs time is up, he took a quick fix approach with gave us 1 good year but now we are in just as bad a shape as we were when he took over. The players no longer believe in him, it's evident in the way they are performing week in week out.

    • Good info HKF and I agree wholeheartedly.

5 years is enough time for any coach to shine - we need a purge and the coach needs to walk so the new coach can start with a clean slate.

      • Even when you look at other clubs and their current coaches only a few have coaches that have been at the helm for as long as BA, they are Melbourne with Bellamy and that speaks for itself, Sharks with Flanagan who won them a comp and has them competing every year, Cowboys with Green who won them a comp and St George with McGregor who is probably lucky to still have his job but then you look at the roster he has managed to build compared to BA in the same time frame and has his team playing a style that suits the current trend.

BA does not stack up against any of them so how can it be justified for him to continue in that role?.

  • Agree about the coach not being good enough BNG. Most of our players are good enough, yet the team isn't. We don't have a first grade standard dummy half, we don't have a leader and we don't have a dominant prop forward. We fix this and we are on our way.

  • OUR PLAYER ARE GOOD ENOUGH

    WHAT GAME ARE YOU WATCHING

ARE YOU WATCHING THE EELS GAMES OR THE STORM GAMES OR SOUTH GAMES OR PANTHERS GAMES

YOU ARE NOT WATCHING THE EELS GAMES

BUT I DO AGREE WITH THE COACH NOT GOOD ENOUGH

AND YES I AM SHOUTING IM PISS

    • You didnt get my point about the players

A playing group who came fourth last year and challenged melbourne suddenly cant become so useless in the space of 6 months

Look at souths they were woeful last teo season but the exact same playing squad are now in a position to win the comp if they continue the way they are
