Bigger loss then some would think, his defence is incredible
Would rather lose Penisini
Dam guess Brian Kelly's coming
There's always another junior .... apparently.
"Expected to join....", so was Galvin and so is KK. Probably just click bait.
I hope so, he's a keeper. There's been a lot of talk about overpaying players. Here's one who has delivered good value (plus his trajectory is upwards from here) and presumably the bears can also see this. I'd like him to stay with us but he's got to do whatever is in his own best interests.
Here's a snippet from the telegraph:
It is understood that Russell has agreed to a long-term deal to leave his junior club Parramatta at the end of next year to sign with the Bears.
The Eels wanted to retain Russell – who has played 61 top grade games since making his debut for the Eels in 2021 – and made an offer to the 23-year-old. However they were gazumped by the Bears who identified Russell as a long-term player to join the club with the deal up to four years.
The Eels remain locked in talks with the Titans regarding centre Brian Kelly moving before the start of the season.
Losing players not signing any
Richard Penisini should be ready to take Russels place
Poor bugger will go backwards under Meningas coaching. JAC has made Russell's game, he will probably have someone like Morgan Harper to take him under his wing. Good luck to him, he has been a good servant to the club, and I'd say we couldn't justify matching Perths offer.
