  Many of the best players in the NRL now are NZs and I think it was very shrewd getting SK for his bloodline and that he is very close to the best NZ boys.

  tis a shame about DA all up though.
  
  Here's a bloke who grew up in the area and Parramatta was a team that was always his passion.
  
  When he first left us he took the Warriors to their first grand final, then after some disputes with the Warriors he departed to become one of the most successful coaches in the history of the UK Super League.
  
  I recall being very pumped when DA returned to parramatta, but like many other fans, i will happily run with the new coaching decision and support the team as a good supporter should.
  
  I do agree with you SixtiesBoy that Kearney WILL attract players to the club, perhaps in the same way that Bennet attracts people to whatever club he is associated with.
  
  
  I have a better feeling for this next year.
  
  While I will NOT go on record as going "THE FULL-ON ONE EYE" and pronounce with SK we will win the comp, my crystal ball tells me that next year will be better to watch. Even when we lose a game, we will still play with heart. My prediction is we will be top 8 again next year, but from there, the ball gets a little cloudy!!

  I think I remember reading that DA was in charge of recruitment. Does that make Kearney his best or his worst signing? As for Ozzy I think he is doing a marvelous job. He is easily the best CEO the Eels have had in the last 30 years at least.

  Look, there's no doubt Ossie is trying to be proactive in turning around the on-field fortunes of the club and I commend him for that. Where he attracts criticism is his complete inability to deal with the press in a professional manner. Of course Parra news sells papers and the DT know it. That's why they're always keen to talk to Osborne because they know he'll give them a headline.
  
  The Dogs sell papers too but we don't hear much from them because Greenberg is running that club in an ultra-professional manner.
  
  I still can't believe that Osborne publicly stated that Quade Cooper "would be an Eel someday"!!

  Since Bennett severed ties with NZ, I have seen nothing in the games they have played that has given me any confidence in Kearney as a Head Coach!
  
  The only good game they played last year was the first game against the Aussies and they let them back in too easily and managed to come up with a draw!!
  
  They were very unconvincing against an extremely poor England side on Saturday night.......I will give him my full support but I am not expecting alot of change from what has been dished out in the 2010 season from the Eels!!!!!

  I really don't know if this is the case, mate. In the limited experiences, I've had with how this is being handled, Paul seems to at least have plenty of autonomy from an operational point of view. You could probably argue whether or not the board is getting over involved in the big picture decisions - but anything from an implementation perspective seems to come down to Paul.
