Origin Review - Bloke in a Bar

The boys review the game great.

Also want to stress the importance of what Pierce says early. Having strike centres in shape makes a massive difference in your attack. Their presence is enough to be a threat. They cause fear which causes defenders to always keep an eye on them and thus gives more space for the halves to run and put their backrowers into holes. Thus, our current outside backs limit the effect Brown and Moses can have on shape.

    - You could not describe the Eels current situation any better, perfectly put, EA.

    • Thanks NOS.

I said this in another blog:

      • Russel would not even get a hand on the ball that Lomax caught.
      • Lane would have dropped the ball or run into a defender for the try Martin scored.
      • The smart kick Moses put in for To'o, our outside backs would be oblivious or to slow.
      • The try Edwards scored from a Moses pass, Gutho would not have the speed or agility to beat Edwards.

Lots of people need to reliase that Brown and Moses do not have the same quality around them in the 1-5. It makes a massive difference and they would also get marked so much harder. If Moses had the eels 1-5 out there tonight, he may have have not gotten a single of those 4 try assists.

      • The fact we made a grand final with a terrible backline was credit to Moses brown and gutho really lol. Just nothing in the centres or wings other then penisini really

      • Don't forget the context of that blog EA as it was about the unjust critique of Moses doing his thing in Origin and DB in a world cup final, with the missing ingredients of not having "gumbys" in our backline. The critique was "why cannot they do it for their club"

  • Imagine what Moses would do with a hard nose front and back row . Running hard and good lines.. Imagine Jnr running like Spencer Leniu

    • he used to...cant really compare a guy in his twentys to a 32 year old

      • Junior Paulo is 30 , I see no physical reason that should slow him down, implication is motivation.

  • We have Moses passing to Lane who hasn't caught a ball in 2024
