RUMOUR: Orford to the Eels and Jeremy Smith too!

Has he made a decision?

As far as we know, Matt Orford still hasn’t decided where he will be playing football in 2011.

But the latest rumour I’m hearing is that during the Nathan Cayless tribute dinner, it was announced that Matt Orford had all but signed with the Parramatta Eels and it would be announced on Wednesday.

To go along with this rumour, apparently Jeremy Smith also wants to come to the Eels and play under Stephen Kearney, his New Zealand coach, and is seeking to get out of his Cronulla Sharks contract.

I’d take both these rumours with a big tablespoon of salt. Orford may end up at the Eels but he just as easily might still end up at the Canberra Raiders.

I will believe it when I see it. Isn't Jeremy Smith signed on a 3 year deal with the Sharks?

Mate I hope its true that we have got both and yes Smithy is signed with the sharks but apparently he didn't know that Kearney was going to the eels and if he did he would have signed with us when we approached him earlier instead of signing with the sharks. He is desperately trying to get out of his contract with the sharks to come to the eels.

But as the story says that it is only a rumour.... How true it is, is another thing but as I said I hope we get both because we need Orford and Smith is just a real mongrol who is also young been 26 years old and he brings a wealth of experience with him. Ideal replacement for Hindmarsh when he pulls the pin.

This simple truth is that SK wants Orford. It won't be Ossie's decision. SK knows what he's doing here so trust him.
