Oregon Kaufusi

" It's reported Oregon Kaufusi has not activated his player option with the Sharks for the 2025 season and is therefore a free-agent and able to sign with rival clubs. "  - Fox Sports

Should we go for him?

  • Why not just keep Reg?

    • He doesn't want to stay, fair dinkum....not happy with 2 years extension

      • Ok didnt know that we offered a two year extension on top of 25 and he said no ?  interesting ....

    • Again, if Reg was that big a loss how have other teams baulked at his length demands? All the clubs seem to agree with where we are, he is good but ageing and declining. He wanted 3 years, we wanted his coin to bring in more depth and avoid relying on Ron Massey players again.

In a 5 year stretch you will get more value out of Kaufusi than RCG, since RCG will retire soon and Kaufusi would be starting all those 5 years.

      • Kaufusi is not good enough, never got past potential....would not want these type of players back!

Just shows how dumb Cronulla were in paying him big money.

    • Reg is 31 and past his best.

Oregon still has his best years ahead of him

      I like it.

  • 26yrs old. probbaly same rate. I would

    • Yeah adnan, he ain't going to demand much more than the roughly $400k he is on at Cronulla right now.

  • That prop at manly who went nuts in new York I think is free . He seems settled now and cheap  .lodge

    • Too many injuries and is hitting 30. We tried Lodge in 2019, that time when we were moving on Mannah and looking for a replacement, but he declined to stay in Brisbane, we gave him a nice deal. We then moved to Welch, then RCG after Welch's injury.

Lodge i would say is not the right choice for us, nothing to do with personality, more so where he is in his footy career.
